A few days ago, the "Tesla recalled more than 1.1 million vehicles through OTA" incident aroused heated discussions among netizens.

  In this regard, Tesla responded that Tesla has added a reminder function for deep stepping on the accelerator pedal through the OTA recall. "The introduction of these functions brings more safety guarantees to users on the basis of the rich safety functions of the product. Misstepping on the pedal is a common cause of traffic accidents. The probability of causing a traffic accident. It is expected that Tesla will notify the relevant car owners in the near future by registered mail, SMS, etc., and arrange for the recall."

  On May 12, Tesla filed a recall plan with China's State Administration for Market Regulation. Starting from May 29, 2023, it will recall Model S with a production date between January 12, 2019 and April 24, 2023. , Model X, Model 3, Model Y cars, a total of 1,104,622 vehicles.

  It is reported that Tesla will push the following functions for vehicles within the scope of the recall through the vehicle remote upgrade (OTA) technology:

(1) On vehicles that do not have the option of regenerative braking intensity, provide an option to allow the driver to select the regenerative braking intensity;

(2) Adjust the factory default state of the vehicle energy regenerative braking strategy;

(3) A reminder is issued when the driver depresses the accelerator pedal deeply for a long time.

  Regarding Tesla's "energy regenerative braking" system, controversy has continued in recent years. Many opinions believe that this new driving mode designed with "single pedal" will bring safety hazards to the traffic environment. As for whether Tesla has excessive publicity in this regard, which has brought some "misleading"? Is there a focus to inform the possible risks of this model? How does Tesla currently solve the "brake failure" problem reported by users? Tesla's official propaganda that "when you want to slow down, you only need to release the accelerator pedal and lift your foot to slow down, which saves effort" and "no need to switch pedals back and forth" has caused controversy. The general manager of Tesla Beijing said, "First of all, we need to correct one point. There is no so-called 'single pedal' in Tesla's dictionary, and the word does not appear in Tesla's customer manuals and other technical documents. It was imposed on us by the outside world." He said that Tesla's braking system is essentially the same as that of gasoline vehicles on the market, except that when a Tesla owner releases the accelerator pedal, there will be a more obvious deceleration feel. "When driving a Tesla, if you want to accelerate, you press the accelerator pedal; if you want to slow down, you press the brake pedal or release the accelerator pedal. If you press both pedals with both feet, the vehicle will brake."

  It is worth mentioning that the number of Tesla’s recalls covers almost all the models sold in China in recent years, which is rare in recall cases.
