Recently, Audi released news to refine a plan for the electric transition.
Audi said that all plants will be producing zero-emission vehicles by 2029, with Böllinger Höfe in Germany and Brussels in Belgium already completed and Ingolstadt in Germany starting next year.
In the next period, plants in Neckarsulm, Germany, San José Chiapa, Mexico and gyzyhr, Hungary will also start.
Audi mentioned that the company will only build new factories in regions where additional capacity is needed. Cooperate with FAW (FAW) to build a new production base in Changchun, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, which will be used to produce electric vehicles based on PPE architecture.
In addition, Audi will invest around 500 million euros by 2025 in training employees for global production of electric vehicles.
Audi also mentioned that the company is also committed to reducing complexity and cutting annual factory costs in half by 2033. It will be possible to achieve this by reducing complexity by increasing the number of electric vehicles and reducing the number of internal combustion engine models. A streamlined production process will be implemented from the start, for example the Q6 e-tron will be produced on the same line as the A4 and A5.
